Day 8 #JourneytoHandstand is Paschimattanasana, Forward Bend. Forward bend flexibility is a big part of a successful handstand practice. Having a deep forward fold pivots the hips forward to more easily stack the hips over the foundation of the arms and hollows out the lower belly making the body lighter and easier to jump or lift up. Forward bend is comprised of hamstring and leg flexibility, release and elongation of the lower back and a deep activation of the bandhas to create space in the inner body.
