Without the spiritual practice we remain caught in cycles of delusion that worsen and intensify over time. The spiritual practice aims to clear the mind so that we can finally make evaluation based on the actual experience of reality. Instead of seeing things based on our opinions, judgements and past, we see things as they truly are. Only when we are free from the baggage of our patterning can we hope to take actions that will lead to less suffering, more peace and ultimately liberation. Are we perfect? Absolutely not. We stumble and fall and make mistakes. But the key is that spiritual practice is just that—practice.
