And it’s such a ridiculous story. 🤦‍♀️ Let me start it by saying that I had bungee jumped at Victoria Falls before!! …and I FORGOT that it feels like your going to die, so I went ahead and made it an activity on my #MyLifesATravelTribe group trip earlier this month. Obvi since it’s my trip and I’m supposed to be the fearless leader, I opted to go first (well, after our two guys who were extremely eager to go). The day of I was finally like, “Wait, why am I doing this again?” 😂 I forgot how much scarier it is since you’re strapped by the ankles (others I’ve done strap at the waist harness). On top of that, they wrap towels around your ankles first so the harness is tight enough or something or maybe to avoid ripping your skin off. So as I’m sitting there getting strapped, my first fail is trying to fix my selfie stick, and I was so nervous that I was shaking, and dropped the screw, and watched it fall down through the grate floor, thousands of feet, into the river below Victoria Falls 🤦‍♀️ That meant I couldn’t hold my camera, and not holding a camera gives me anxiety. But whatever I hopped to the edge, jumped, and enjoyed flying for 5 seconds… Then the recoil sent me flying back into the air while spinning so fast that my vision blurred. I also had a really bad sinus cold, so the pressure in my face suddenly felt like it was going to explode. But the worst part was hanging there upside down when it was over. Suddenly it felt like my feet were slipping out of the towels! I tried to flew them to keep them in, but I definitely looked below and thought, “Fml I’m going to fall into the river and get eaten by a crocodile”.
