I probably should be but here I am back again for my 4th gorilla trek 😻🦍 To answer some common questions : yes, gorillas can be dangerous. Yes, I have seen them beat their chest and then charge several times (including right past me). Yes, several of them have tried to come up to me (the rangers block them). Yes you still have to wear a mask since any human disease can be transmitted to them. And no, I didn’t wear the dress on the 7 hour trek, I put it on over my trekking clothes when I got there. These videos are some of my priceless, once-in-a-lifetime possessions, because they were taken in Virunga National Park, just before they had to shut it down due to ongoing rebel violence. It still remains closed, so we go to the safer area in Uganda called Bwindi Impenetrable Forest instead. The gorillas in Uganda are a lot more used to people, therefore less curious like these ones, but also like…WAY safer, which is why I feel comfortable bringing my travel tribe groups there!
