Many people (referencing US citizens) think it’s dangerous, specifically for women. From all of my experiences in the 7 countries I’ve been to in the Middle East, people actually treat me really well, aside from the occasional angry man, usually in airports, but I’ve never actually felt in danger. Then there’s the obvious annoying stereotypes people have…like “t*rrorists”. Don’t even get me started on that one. And then of course there’s this unreasonable prejudice against Muslim and Arabic people. But that’s fine. Those kind of people can simply not go to all of the amazing places in the Middle East, but for f*cks sake, STFU with your rumors and false interpretations about places you’ve never even been to!!! I’ll continue to keep going, because I know how fabulous and beautiful it is, and I’ll enjoy not seeing people who believe in false stereotypes there 😁 Speaking of which, I’m very excited to be heading to two new Middle Eastern countries in February; Oman and Yemen (Middle East)!
