I’m short, it was way less awful than expected (I was prepared for mood swings, depression, extreme bloating, and painful injections), but it did take longer (total of 15 days), and the surgery part was scarier/more painful than expected. I will say that I am extremely happy with the costs, the quality of medical equipment, and most importantly how friendly and helpful my nurses and doctors were. I really felt safe and empowered during the whole process! Something very very important is to not listen to most people who do this process because everyone’s experience and opinions are different! For example, I hardly had any side effects, but many women told me they did (which is what initially scared me to do it). I also am still undecided if I want any kids, and think at most I’d want ONE, so for me, doing one round and getting 10 eggs is great and it’s my decision not to do another one even though many women have told me I should (none of which are my doctor 😂). Most importantly for me, I also loved hearing about how normal this is for women my age to do in Spain, since most wait until late 30’s/40’s to have kids! I am personally not ready to calm myself down enough to take care of a human, and idc if some parents say you can still travel with kids, the fact is that I travel 10x more than most people with kids, often to “dangerous” destinations that I wouldn’t want to risk bringing a child to, and on top of that, my life is just wayyyy to fabulous right now to be changing diapers.
