So starting out with an elephant rescue I went to 6 years ago that I am grateful to have brought my group to last week! This is at @theelephantcafezambia — one of the few places I have heard of that used to allow elephant riding, but stopped when they saw that many people were against it on social media. Instead, they opened a beautiful lunch spot with incredible food, and they use that to profit (both for the humans and the elephants) instead of forcing the animals to be ridden. The elephants are still free-roaming as well, but they will come up to the cafe area for “treats” which is how you can take photos with them.
