What you think about habitually becomes your reality. But it's not the causal thoughts that can cause damage, it's the quiet ones lurking in the depths of the subconscious mind that pose the biggest threats. The thoughts you think so deeply, that are programmed so automatically that you don't even realize you're thinking them--those thoughts are the ones that can inflict real pain in your life. _ Yoga works because it shines a light into the inner darkness and reveals everything that's hidden in the shadows. Healing is about letting the light shine through, deep enough until it penetrates every cell of your being. While yoga has a lot in comment with psychotherapy, it differs in the need to know why. Once you see a thought, the pure act of seeing is enough. Digging around in the past searching for why things happened is an endless and often fruitless search. The truth is that we are all wounded beings doing the best we can. We have all been hurt. We all have succumbed to darkness and temptation more times than we'd like to admit. We are all the same, you, me, your parents, kids, spouse, family, friends, co-workers, bankers, waiters, baristas, airline attendants, lawyers, everyone.
