Day 28 #BeStrongin2015 is Eka Pada Bakasana, One Footed Crane Posture. I think this is the hardest of all the arm balances in the Third Series of Ashtanga Yoga. I could only find balance and lift up for many years by pointing my Bakasana foot towards the ground and using the friction of my shin to prop my body up. But lately I’ve been working on keeping the Bakasana foot closer to my pelvis and lifted up higher. It requires so much more work with the core. If you’re working on this posture a great first step is to simply lift one knee a little off of one arm in Bakasana while keeping the core engaged.
