Warning, have tissues handy.. The other day the mother of one of my audience members DMed me. I usually love when parents do that, because they have these epic stories about how because of my blog or account, they felt comfortable with their daughter traveling solo, and that makes me proud since it's one of my main goals with what I do. This was the case the other day as well, but as I continued reading my smile faded and my eyes watered. The wanderlust daughter the mom was telling me about, who she said was initially inspired to travel to SE Asia solo because of my trip there, and who had told her mom to look at my account to feel more comfortable about her going solo, passed away suddenly earlier this year. 😢 The mom continued sharing the details, explaining how it was a rare health condition, and how the daughter may have thought it could have been fixed had it not been for inadequate health insurance and high medical costs.   But most of all she emphasized on how her daughter had called her with a shaky voice, and told her that "if she were to die tomorrow, it would be fine, because she spent the last 5 years living here dream of traveling the world." This hit very close to home for me, because I say something similar to my mom, as she does to me.   I live my life to the extreme, and as if each day is different and special. I know everything can end in an instant, and even more so now after being in so many near death accidents. So here's a not-so-gentle reminder to live every day to it's fullest, to appreciate and be GRATEFUL for every experience, and to be bold, fearless, and kind to one another. Here's a heartbreaking yet inspiring story to remind you to live your life to the fullest, to travel the world, and to not wait for anything or anyone to do it.

The mom continued sharing the details, explaining how it was a rare health condition, and how the daughter may have thought it could have been fixed had it not been for inadequate health insurance and high medical costs.

But most of all she emphasized on how her daughter had called her with a shaky voice, and told her that "if she were to die tomorrow, it would be fine, because she spent the last 5 years living here dream of traveling the world."

This hit very close to home for me, because I say something similar to my mom, as she does to me.

So here's a not-so-gentle reminder to live every day to it's fullest, to appreciate and be GRATEFUL for every experience, and to be bold, fearless, and kind to one another.
