When I first started traveling solo in 2013, my number one bucketlist goal was going to Antarctica, my 7th continent. Back then though, the stereotypes for that sort of trip were that they were for rich older men, rich families, or retirees. Definitely not for aspiring solo female bloggers! I learned that by getting denied by every expedition company who I pitched to for collaborations 😂 Many would say they admired my determination, blog, photos, and solo travels, but "their target audience is the older, weather demographic". Well, I was convinced other young wanderlusters would want to go. So I asked if I brought 5 people, if I could have a complimentary spot (in addition to a ton of social and blog coverage). They said yes, and literally two days later, I got the spots filled, and in 2017 we set off for the trip of a lifetime! I've been asked to do another #Antarctica trip after that one, but prices had gone drastically up (thanks to lots of creators going after that and increasing the popularity) and I didn't feel comfortable asking people to pay that much. BUT the silver lining of 2020 is that all trips got cancelled and therefore some companies are offering lower rates finally! One reached out to me this time (💁🏼‍♀️) about bringing a group, with prices that are unbeatable right now, so I said yes! Right now I have 82 group trippers booked for #MyLifesATravelTribe Antarctica 2021! I'm proud to say 80% of them are females, 75% are solo travelers, and 85% are millennials 😜😜😜😜😜😜 Many of them paid in full and got upgraded, so we now have a couple open cabins left.
