Still can't believe not only is this particular place 15 mins from my apt in Playa del Carmen, but that this whole area looked similar to this during the height of the Mayan era! . As I'm sure you know, I am not in favor of huge all-inclusive resorts that destroy the environment then do nothing to be sustainable, but after thorough research and pestering the staff, I was at least glad to hear that this one does a lot to make up for what it has destroyed. . It's certified by EarthCheck and UN Global Impact for sustainably, reforestation, and conservation. It's also recognized as Socially Responsible for its commitment to fair treatment of workers, and support programs for the local communities. . Now let's talk about what it's like going to an all-inclusive during these times... . You must wear a mask whenever you're walking around, or anywhere with food, except when eating. You also have to wear it to the water...then you can take it off but you have to carry it or shove it in your swimsuit. . You're temperature gets taken when you enter any restaurant, transportation, main area, etc and you must step in disinfectant plus use hand sanitizer, and sometimes get sprayed with disinfectant. . You can't serve yourself at the buffets (so eating takes a bit longer), and they sanitize seats and tables before and after you eat. . When I was there, I'd say it was at about 30% or less capacity, so I felt pretty safe, especially with all their protocols, but I'm not personally recommending travel, just letting you know what it's like, so you can make your own informed decisions! .
