Whether an act of violence is directed towards yourself or another, it’s the seed of violence that yoga seeks to remove. Whatever acts of violence perpetrated against another are actually acts of violence against oneself. What you do to another you do to yourself. Only by breaking the cycle of violence itself can we seek to be free of it. As long as we live in a society that tacitly condones or outright embraces violence, we are all in chains.
