Not every yoga practice needs to hit it hard. Sometimes what is most healing for the body is to slow down, tune in and just feel. If you’re focused too narrowly on going deeper you might miss the subtle signs of communication from your body. I’m not suggesting that dynamic practices are bad. I love them and practice Ashtanga as my main discipline. But in times of stress, when emotions are flying and the window of tolerance is shrinking, a slow, steady practice might be just what your nervous system needs to calm down.
