Fasted and most efficient handstand around the world today. I managed to get from the Americas the Africa in a flash. All thanks to the map of the world painted on the wall in the apartment we rented here in Copenhagen. Did you happen to see the pic @timfeldmannyoga took today from the other angle? People say his shorts may actually be smaller than mine ? _ If there’s one thing I’ve learned from 20 years of practice it’s just that. Just practice. Honest, transparent, persistent, consistent and kind. Show up on your mat when you’re tired, energized, happy, sad, whatever. Practice changes the way you think and feel and because of that it literally changes your world. Sometimes people think they have to go out and do something extraordinary to change the world. If it’s in your heart, go for it. And if not, I personally think it’s extraordinary enough to devote a little time each day to your practice because when you practice you shine that little bit brighter. By clearing your mind, opening your heart and loving your body you are in fact contributing to the evolution of the planet in a small but immensely meaningful way. _ It doesn’t have to be a flawless handstand. It just has to be real and true to who you are and where you are. Yes I like to take photos of handstands in my practice and I can understand how that may seem at odds with my message about practice. And yet maybe not, because this is the reality of my practice. I do this every day. I often take handstand videos bc I enjoy working on them and bc they come at the end of my practice. That means I’ve had an hour or more of uninterrupted inner work before I think about snapping a picture or getting my phone. I prefer not to look at my phone, speak to anyone, or focus on anything other than my breath and the prayer that the practice is for me. When I share my practice live it’s about sharing the feeling of the inner space and the hopefully inspiring other students to practice. While I could film a sequence after I finish, there’s also something I enjoy about sharing my unedited, unperformed practice just as it is. _ Practice is not performance. Practice is just practice. _ #practiceyogachangeyourworld
