I am a sun worshipper (not in a religious sense, just in the physical sense). I’m like a plant that requires a certain dose of sunlight every day or I start to wilt. Add in a healthy serving of Vitamin Sea and I’m flourishing. Lock me away in grey skies, rainy days or closed rooms and I hardy recognize myself anymore. So yeah, I’m soaking up every bit of sunshine in Asia before heading to Northern Europe for five weeks. Hey, it’s not a criticism, I love the Nordic world in all its beauty and splendor and when the sun shines in the Scandinavian summer there is no more glorious place to be on Earth. Once I told Tim that I’d consider living in Denmark with him, then we spent six months in his home during what the Danish call a “bad summer”. I’m from Miami. Summer is summer. We don’t know what that means. But I learned quickly. A bad summer is what some people refer to as a green winter, where you have the heating on in July and August (we did that year) and where it can rain consecutively for days on end (it did that year). Anyhow I rebelled. Now we live in Miami and visit the north every summer. As it turns out this has been a good summer. I’m hoping the sun stays around for me here now too.
