Standing alone on the black sand beaches of Japan, I realize how happy the sea makes me. No matter how intense life gets this is my happy place. With sand in between my toes, the wind in my hair and the salt on my skin, I'm happy.

And really, life has been sort of intense lately. Some things I thought would last forever have vanished. Other things I thought were lost forever reappeared. Some truths that I was ready to see materialized with striking clarity. It's like my eyes opened and now I can't un-see. After talking about it, a healer who has known me for some time told me that it's a cycle I'm in right now, where I'm shedding the skin of the past in order to be reborn. I've gone through this more than a few times, this process of growth and renewal, but it doesn't mean it's easy as pie for me (and who said pie was easy?). Amidst so many awesome things (my new book is coming out next week, my new talk show just launched, thousands of people are practicing with me on @omstarsofficial and I'm Chiba, Japan where my grandfather is from), I've had a weight on my heart from things that were sitting around unresolved, some stuff that needed to be done but didn't feel awesome. But today, something shifted. It was like I saw the clearing and the sunlight broke through just long enough to show me how amazing this next step of the journey is going to be.

I dreamt of being this fierce unstoppable person who conquered the highest mountains and tamed the wildest seas. Little did I know that the journey would be inward and how often I would need to walk it on my own, but not be lonely. I'm the one I was waiting for. Not because of my size or shape or what poses I can do, but because I finally see exactly who I am. I get it, my worth, my sense of self, why I'm here. And you know what, while it may seem like another platitude, it really is all about love. Without love even the highest accomplishments seem hollow. But with love, even a walk at the beach on a random afternoon is an awakening.
