Sometimes it feels like so much of life is a dream, like the things we think will destroy us are paper dragons that crumble, like the things we hold onto so tightly to define us are just chains that lock us down into a world that is an illusion. One of things I appreciate about coming to India and practicing is the way the practice here seems to break through the layers of personality and social masks to reveal the simple truth of who you are. While it's easy to fall into the temptation to create another social hierarchy in yoga by following the cool kids with the right clothes, the hot asana and the lingo, the bare naked truth of the practice itself cuts all that away. We are all equal when we stand on our mats and face our fears. We are all humbled by the sheer magnitude of grace that this practice leads you to. We are all students of yoga, seekers on the spiritual journey, hungering for Divine connection. Practice is prayer, the breath is its own poetry and the body is a temple of realization. You don't need a special pass to get into this realm of truth, you just need to practice. There are moments so deep and profound I don't know how to describe, ineffable truths that slip into the deepest spaces of my soul. Sometimes when I walk out of practice and the foggy embers of the night's dew linger on the remains of the day, the sun filters through and burns away the memories of the night, and there is a space of eternality, a timeless presence of wisdom that shines like a clarion call to an ancient path. And I follow the winding road into a world suspended in its own peace and I get the sense that it was just like this thousands of years ago and it will be just like this thousands of years in the future. While I stand here and now, with a view like a flash into the sands of eternity, and I am overwhelmed with humility, with gratitude, with love. ? . #practiceyogachangeyourworld #onebreathatatime ? .
