Day 20 #basicyogamix is Urdhva Dhanurasana. This backbend comes at the end of every Ashtanga Yoga practice. It can be modified and made easy for a simple bridge, keeping the shoulder on the floor and lifting the hips. Or it can be made deeper and more advanced like this video by holding the ankles and standing up. Backbends are a test of the ego. Accept where you are and work your edge with just enough effort to kindle the inner fire, but not too much force to push the body too far. Backbends are the ultimate surrender, the entry into the inner body. You have to be brave and non-attached to the outcome because the body changes every single day.
