Guess what this is behind me? It's a wall entirely covered in..... Gum, as in chewing gum. I didn't believe it at first and Siri wouldn't accept it and auto-corrected gum five times. It made me think of the Willy Wonka's candyland. Out of all the places that I've been in the world people always ask me about dirty hands and feet. I usually don't get prissy about street dirt, but I must admit that this is the only place that I have been to so far that I would not put my hands or feet directly on the ground to do a yoga posture. Parents bringing their children to look at the wall were saying "kids don't touch", tourists were getting close but not too close to the wall. I didn't see anyone adding to the gum wall but every single piece of the rainbow speckles behind me is a discarded piece of actual used chewing gum. Who knows the story of how this started? Beautiful, strange, quirky, almost magical, moderately creepy. Photo by @laraliam
