Kino, I couldn’t ask you about this at your workshop, but I might be a yoga asana practice addict because I was going to see sports medicine doctors, a shoulder specialist, acupuncture, and a deep tissue massage therapist to continue my yoga practice after a chest injury last October. The Japan trip in June was an eye opener...I didn’t do asana practice for 7 days and now all of the pains are gone from my body. I love Ashtanga and Ashtanga asana practice is always my favorite but I am taking time to go back to practice. I don’t want to make the same mistake over and over... I know there is no Ashtanga police but I feel so bad not to practice everyday. Ashtanga practice is so great and so addictive but now I really think I don’t want to be a yoga asana addict anymore...because yoga should not be like that, right?

@kinoyoga I think ‘mad’ is perfect; it encompasses all the other emotions so well. I suspect that of the others disappointment is the most painful. I believe you had no knowledge of this behaviour, and so you should not allow the guilt card to play in your head. I have a very similar experience with a previous coach... I wasn’t there, I didn’t see it... I struggle to match the individual I knew, loved, and respected, with the reports in the newspaper. He came forward, pleaded guilty, and spent time in prison, AND it still does not “feel” real to me. A new era in Ashtanga may be the way to most respectfully move forward. Perhaps you, Tim, Sharath, and other highly educated teachers can create a more accessible teacher training in this genre that includes how to appropriately use hands-on assists 🙏🏻

@sarah____star I'm so sorry to hear about the cancer within you. @drjoedispenza has had remarkable success at helping people heal their own bodies. You can find him on YouTube. I used the info I learned from him to dissolve the depression in my brain. He has stories of how people used his method to rid themselves of cancer. I am a true believer that the body is the mirror of thoughts we think. @anitamoorjani also cured her self of cancer and has written a book of her healing. Dying to be me. The key to healing yourself is your belief system. Theres a great movie HEAL on Netflix. One thing I told my friend when she asked for my help was, if you want to heal you must do the work. Meditation is key. I wish you love and healing. 💖

How do you handle the discipline that is required from you if you want to do yoga - If we have to sleep early and get up at dawn then basically no going out/ forget abt drinking/ no parties - bye bye friends... if i want to do maricha D then better get skinny - bye bye carbs/ bye bye non-veg ... sigh... and every am 6 days a week despite everything getting on the mat ... it is just too hard... how does one get there and hold down a job and a family and have a semblance of being “normal”

First of all, I love you and I consider you my teacher because omstars is my primary way of practicing. I struggle with severe anxiety and although my practice has helped me a lot, I find backbending beyond uncomfortable and triggering. If I had a chance to speak with you, I would ask for your insight in the body-spirit relation between anxiety and backbending and how to overcome those blocks! Thank you for sharing the life changing message of yoga!! Namaste ?

I want to talk to you about the obvious contradiction that being a yogi on Instagram is, and something about ... how is this personal disconnection you're willing and able to have despite this fracturing bearable? (I use forceful language, but I am not angry or judging you. I actually like you a lot now more than ever. And I would like to talk to you about how you changed my mind about you. It's something quite compelling, amazing and fantastic.)
