Sit with not-knowing. Look for the signs but don’t force. Get comfortable with uncertainty.

If you’re a doer and an achiever like I am it can feel confusing and unfamiliar to rest in faith while things work themselves out. I’ve tried so many times to force things into being but when I did, it never ended gracefully. So now I’m choosing something different—I’m allowing myself to just be in the uncomfortable space of not-knowing. Without the predictable past to rely on, the future is uncontrollable. I feel vulnerable all the time.

I cried while driving home today listening to the story of how an orca Mom grieved the loss of her baby for 7 days by carrying her dead child’s body on her own through rough currents and over 1,000 miles. The tenderness of life feels right on my skin, not under the surface anymore. My heart feels wide open.

I’m doing my best to let it all just be.
