Before Jesus Christ was born this tree was a sprout. While Charlemagne King of Franks was coronated as the head of the Holy Roman Emperor these trees stood silently by. And they remained still as Christopher Columbus first landed on the shores of the Americas. Through the War of Independence, the Civil War, WWI and WWII, and into present day, the giant redwoods of California remained. Can you even imagine how it felt to walk these trails as an immigrant from Industrial Age Europe? And can you imagine the hubris and ignorance it misbehave taken to cut down on these trees?
