In those moments that’s when your practice really counts. _ Yesterday I was supposed to fly to Arizona to teach, but I couldn’t make it. A band of tornados stretching from Cuba to the Carolinas grounded all westbound and northbound air traffic along the southeastern US. I waited in airport limbo for what seemed like endless hours only to find my flight cancelled. The soonest I could be rebooked to make it to Phoenix was Sunday, too late for my workshop. So I was stuck in Miami and my workshops rescheduled. We have new dates, so I will make it there eventually. The weekend of June 7-9 is the new date with @yogapulsestudio @the.yoga.mama in Arizona. _ What struck me was how calm I was throughout it all. I was sad to miss the workshop but I never lost my peaceful center. Not when we waited in the airplane for hours, not when the pilots had to sign off for reaching their legal limit, not when they deplaned us, not when the line for questions and rebooking was a mile long, not when there was no more water on board, not when the flight was cancelled. I was just surrendered to the whole experience. Granted, I’m home and I just had to go back home. But still, I would normally have at least gotten a little annoyed somewhere along the way. _ I guess 20 years of spiritual practice counts for something 😊 That’s what matters, the life learning. It’s not that I’m always calm. I stumble and fall, but it’s about how quickly I can get back up again and keep a calm mind and an open heart.
