At first he was my mentor, bringing me into politics; then we became comrades; and now ESM Goh Chok Tong and I are old friends. Last night, I had the honour of launching Chok Tong’s biography, “Tall Order: The Goh Chok Tong Story”. The book covers Chok Tong’s life, from childhood up till the point he succeeded Mr Lee Kuan Yew as Prime Minister. The book launch is timely. We are again preparing for a new generation of leaders to step up and write the next chapter of the Singapore Story. It is good to look back at previous transitions, and study how we made them work.
