Earlier, leaders from #ASEAN, Australia, and Japan held the inaugural Asia Zero Emission Community (AZEC) Leaders’ Meeting. Climate change has become a crucial consideration shaping economic growth and trade. We discussed the challenges and opportunities in our respective decarbonisation journeys, and discussed how we could collaborate to transition more smoothly towards a low-carbon future. I reaffirmed Singapore’s commitment to our 2050 net-zero ambition, and explained how we are supporting decarbonisation in Asia and beyond.
