I used to make lists of all the things I wanted to accomplish and write down all the positive affirmations I wanted to believe in myself. Sometimes prayer would turn into a to-do list. I don’t know when the switch happened but it’s not like that for me anymore. _ Prayer is deep holy communion, a merging with the Infinite, a space of listening more than asking. My goals and affirmations are built on faith. I don’t feel the need to list them every day. I live with the seed of a deep and profound connection to the spirit and I let that be enough. _ Trust in the universe and your place in it makes all the difference. While we are in many ways masters of our own universes we are not in control of THE universe. What a relief. If you’ve been stressing out because you feel the weight of the world on your shoulders, here’s my advice—formally resign from your position as master of the universe. You were never really in charge anyway. All you can do is show up and do your best at whatever shows up along your path. If you want to put in the work, focus your mind on the Divine. Place the highest attention towards the deepest truth within yourself. Once you tune in to that reality everything changes. Two breaths spent in faith and surrender open doors that remained locked despite years of struggle and effort. One day it just started happening. I actually needed that period of struggle to build strength on the physical level. But more than just that, I needed to bang my head into the ground so many times so that I could finally pick it back up, look myself in the mirror and see my own strength looking back at me. I needed to fall 10,000 times to get back up stronger and more humble 10,001 times.
