Did you see the old family photos in my stories today? I see myself in his smile and easy demeanor. And yet I feel today so small in a vast and endless world. And in an incongruous opposite I am yet still aware of the infinite light hiding just around every corner of the material world, even in the world of my own body.

There is so much beyond our control. Is it arrogance to think that just because we have the will we also have the power to change what we want? The outer world is beyond our control, but we can each become masters of our own inner world. If we choose. I could stand here and let the cloud of grief overwhelm me. It could shatter my faith and rock my center so deeply so I’d emerge crippled and broken. But I won’t. I stand here and choose meaning, peace and strength. I choose to reclaim my innocence and my laughter and my smile, to stand firm in my belief that there is more love and light in every moment than anything else. Love isn’t powerful because it needs to exist in a bubble. Love heals all wounds exactly because it goes to the darkest corners of the soul and fights the costliest wars. Love wins out in the end because only love is willing to do whatever it takes no matter how long it takes. Love is limitless and infinite and breaks all the rules. Love is sustenance and magic in a hopeless place. Love. Just love. That’s enough for today. ?
