One of the gifts of the Ashtanga Yoga practice is the ability to see and recognize the truth, to be able to differentiate what is real from what is unreal. This is called Viveka Khyatih in Sanskrit and is an important step along the spiritual path. So many times we see something and assume it's the final truth only to see that it was just our opinion or that later what we thought was true was just a partial truth. Or sometimes when you're faced with the truth you want to run away, deny or escape it.
