Because all salons are closed due to Covid my natural dark blonde roots are also coming through (I think it looks more brown!) and now my hair is three different colours at once! Not what I was expecting but hey ho. I like to look at it as a metaphor for life; like slicing through the rings of a tree or digging down deep into the earth to find the many different layers created with time. Cutting the ends of my hair off is like letting go of the past, with my present being my dark roots and my future yet to grow. We carry our hair around with us (when it is long) for many years and so much can change in that short space of time. We change, our appearance changes and certainly our outlook on life may shift too given the experiences that we go through and lessons we learn. Where will we all be in a year from now when our hair is much longer? Who knows! But life (like hair) is a natural and necessary process of growth, shedding and starting again.
