Back then -18yrs ago- the thought of being so pale was associated with illness "you've lost your colour, are you feeling ok?" because so many people naturally spent so much time outdoors compared to today, as did I but with little colour. It seems to be British culture that as soon as the sun pops out, everybody and their uncle wants to sunbathe and BBQ, and both of my parents absolutely love the sun. It's funny how skincare has changed over the past couple of decades, and how being pale isn't seen as an imperfection anymore, just a natural part of life. My Irish heritage gave me English Rose skin. Whilst I love having a golden glow throughout the summer, from reading and working out in nature, I use natural fake tans now to boost my bronze instead of sun beds. The turning of the seasons and transition through autumn and winter always make me feel like I'm coming home as my skin returns to its natural colour away from the sun. Where are my fellow Libras? 🍁 Skin is such a beautiful part of who we are and should never make us feel embarrassed, shameful or distressed. Whatever your colour, whatever your age and however your skin changes throughout the seasons please always love, cherish and respect this priceless gift of life that you have been given. Your thoughts on winter skin? 🤍❤️

I spent so many hours in my youth toasting my skin on sun beds to try to maintain just a little bit of colour throughout the year.
