I see so many people who are absolutely amazing individuals yet they feel like they are failures in life purely because of how other people treat them. 9/10 it’s actually an overbearing parent or jealous partner pulling you down because what once upon a time started out as pride or an attraction becomes an insecurity to them and the person who used to call you beautiful then starts to criticise everything about you and your appearance in order to prevent you from becoming too confident or being seen as attractive/available to others who might steal you away. It’s why so many people cheat - they receive nothing but criticism from their “loved one” but around others they are highly praised, complimented and celebrated for their beauty, sense of humour and intellect and so they stray to where the most attention is given and ultimately the unhealthy relationship ends. Since when was criticising your partner ever a good or kind thing to do? I believe in building people up and supporting them to achieve their individual dreams as you share the beautiful journey of life together; being a strong, supportive and trust-worthy partner who would never be doubted or unappreciative is the key to happiness with your other half. It’s not about stunting or stopping them from living their own life but allowing your partner to flourish and feel confident in their own skin and have faith in your relationship. If somebody is worthy of you and truly deserves your love they will recognise how blessed they are to have you everyday; if somebody is yet to love themselves they will not be able to love or keep hold of anybody else, instead jumping from person to person looking for the happiness that they severely lack from within.
