That what I've been discussing live from my brother's living on both @jeremyvineon5 and @timesradio today. 💙📺📻 So I'm not going to sit here and defend the way the government spends it money, no way. I'm a frustrated tax payer like most other people and not a fan of this government's approach to covid at all! But I do want to explain and perhaps even defend influencer marketing to anyone that might not understand or be angry about it. The government spends millions on advertising every single year, for example last year they spent £100million advertising a No Deal Brexit. Traditionally, advertising was on TV and in print. Now, a very effective way to target people is through digital advertising. So if they want to promote the Test & Trace system, they obviously want to reach as many people as possible. If they are trying to target under 25s, influencers and in particularly Love Island stars are the perfect way to reach them, especially as most don't watch TV. Whether you like them or watch the tv show or not, these influencers can reach a larger and younger demographic that traditional advertising can't. Plus, it's actually more cost effective, and they can see a lot of analytics and data behind it. ✨ For those saying the influencers/celebs should do it for free for "civic duty", then that raises a lot of questions about the world we live in. Should TV, Print, YouTube, Facebook all give up advertising space for the government for free? Maybe they should? Also, where do we draw the line? Should hand sanitizer companies be giving that out for free? Should pharmaceutical companies give the government vaccinations for free? Do you see what I mean? Hope that helps anyone feeling angry about it, and like I said: I'm not defending the way this government spends its money. But influencer marketing is a very brilliant form of digital advertising, even though it seems very fluffy from the outside. What are your thoughts? Anyway, that's me off for the today so I'm off out for dinner with my siblings as it's my last night in Bonny Scotland. 🤸🏼‍♀️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿」9月1日 2時22分 - ashleylouisejames
