When I first quit my job, it's the show I said I always wanted to do. I've just been minding my business and working hard. I really appreciate all the nice messages I get - I see them all and it means so much! 🥰 I mean Gyles Brandreth is a national treasure so it's a slight to get to sit on the sofa with him. And Dermot and Lisa are always lovely! But guys.... Swipe to the end for my fake tan fail..😂🫢 I can already see the negative Nancy's having a field day on this, but come on life is short and it's funny. Ada has had her first spray tan - I can't believe it's not happened sooner. I've got a spray tan regularly since having Ada - it really makes me feel more confident! I've really mastered the way to do it whilst cosleeping and breastfeeding too. WELL! last night I wiped my b00b and then fell asleep until 1:30am. So not only is my tan a little more developed than intended ... But Ada also has a bit of a tan for Christmas. Hopefully it wears off before her first Xmas photos. 😆 Anyway, today we chatted about an array of topics. The big debate: should you have Yorkshire puddings with Christmas dinner (the answer is YES). And whether we should we buy our teachers Christmas presents and Rishi Sunak's plan to force kids to study English and Maths to 18. So firstly, I think that showing teachers that they are appreciated is so nice. They do one of the most important jobs in the world - provide our children with education. But they're more than educators - they offer social and pastoral care (even more so since the Tories cut support / social care / mental health services). They're mentors! And good teachers stay with us for life. Gifts don't need to be expensive but I it shows appreciation for an important profession. But what teachers really want for Xmas? Fair pay. Rishi is talking about maths until 18 but who will teach them and where? Schools are crumbling and there's a chronic teacher shortage. They're struggling to recruit and retain staff with 1 in 3 leaving within a decade. Fix our education system properly. 💪🏼✨」12月15日 22時56分 - ashleylouisejames
