Yoga is... a promise of peace. a path of healing. a journey to the center of yourself. a discipline of truth and God-realization. a daily devotion, sadhana. a prayer. a physical practice with a spiritual intention. an ancient science of the soul. a ritual in service of the Divine. a quiet space of worship. a reclaiming of the sacred. a life of inner peace. an act of faith that chooses the spiritual, the unseen, over the material and the seen. a training of mind to turn infinitely inward. a rock to rest upon in times of chaos and hardship. a decision to be stronger, to change the world, one breath at a time. a moving meditation where the answers to life’s most difficult questions are answered by the breath. a path of love and forgiveness. _ Yoga is all this and more. It’s important to check your inner definition of yoga like it’s good to check the GPS so that while you’re practicing you remember why you practice and where you’re going. It can be so easy to get side tracked off the path and caught in a web of desire. Take time each day and remember what yoga is to you and why you practice.
