Getting kicked out of orbit for a few weeks has opened my eyes to different levels of reality that I abstractly and intellectually understood but never really experienced first hand. Lived experience changes everything. _ I thought I knew what it would be like to be on my own after my father was gone. I had no idea. It’s been almost two months and I see him, feel him every where. There’s this little girl in my heart that can’t stop saying, Dad, why did you have to go? I half expect him to walk in the door or call me, but I know it’s magical thinking. His presence is all around me sometimes and it’s like he’s sitting right next to me. I swear I can actually feel him, but then he’s gone. I had no concept for the kind of heartbreak that losing my father would be. There is no one who will ever love me like he did, that’s the gift that every father can give to their daughter. _ My body has always in one way or another been there for me. I’ve never broken a bone or had a surgical procedure (and hope I never have either experience). But the big burn on my thigh, the accompanying visit to the hospital and the adverse reaction to the tetanus shot have made me so grateful for the relative health I’ve known most of my life. I taken some amazing blessings for granted—freedom of movement, natural flexibility, the abundance of energy I am usually blessed, and financial support to name a few. Having been sapped of all these past few weeks has made me realize just how blessed I have been. _ It’s one thing to think about something and another thing entirely to experience it. Think about the practice. You can watch as many videos about a pose as you want. You can talk circles around anatomy and technique until you’ve confused yourself silly. But only when you experience the pose will it all start to make any sense. Practice is a field of experience aimed at the direct and personal revelation of the true light. _ Day 4 #30dayyogaliving is Dolphin Pose with the amazing @fitqueenirene on @omstarsofficial Are you practicing?? _ Photo: @ifilmyoga Wearing: OmStars x @liquidoactive #practiceyogachangeyourworld #onebreathatatime
