There’s a moment every time I practice when my mind settles. It’s like that storm of thoughts quiets at some point while I am focusing on my breath, my posture and my focal point. I’m not always cognizant of the exact time it happens, but I always notice after. It’s like the thoughts have wound themselves up so tightly and they’re all tied up. By practicing I stop the momentum from continuing to accumulate any more. Just that small pause is enough to experience the deep peace that is actually always there. The sanctuary of the heart remains forever untouched and pure. No life circumstance can disturb it. The practice works because you drop your mind into the eternal truth of the spirit. Stay true. Stay pure. Practice every day.
