Don't expect yoga to be easy. In fact, it should be a little hard right from the beginning. You should be challenged enough so that you feel inspired to practice more, but not so much so you feel defeated and want to quit. Finding that balance is so hard and really so individual. So many people say that whatever I think of as beginner isn't beginner. Well, I may have a warped sense of beginner because my first Ashtanga Yoga class was a Full Primary Series. I was a hot mess. I still remember how I kept thinks it would be over and at the same time I never wanted it to end. The practice challenged me and I rose up to it. But I've seen students crumble under the same challenge and walk away thinking Ashtanga isn't for them. It's not easy or alway possible to adjust the practice to suit everyone's needs. Sometimes the practice is just the practice and we as students need to learn how to accept that it's hard. By accepting that the practice is sometimes difficult, it allows us to build humility, determination, perseverance, and true strength. These are all qualities of the spiritual path. If it's all easy and handed to you on a platter, you may quit anyway because of that. So let the practice be the practice and find your wisdom over many years on the mat. _ #ashtangayogachallenge ashtangayogachallenge Day 4 is Parsvakonasana B. This is a hard one so don't expect it to fall effortlessly into place. Instead, expect to fall, fumble and generally feel uncoordinated. Practice is practice. Measure the depth not by the pose by the amount of peace that's in your heart. _ For more in-depth anatomical technique, join my all-new 16 class course on OmStars.com.
