People ask me all the time how old I was when I started yoga. I took my first class at 19 and then commuted to daily practice at 22. I've been getting on my mat six days a week since then. It's changed my life. And the longer I practice, the more I realize that it's not about the fancy tricks, it's about the honest simplicity of the practice. There is nothing that can replace the humble task of returning to your breath, your body and your focal point over and over again. Discipline is the foundation of the inner journey. You get out of the practice what you put in. Give your whole heart and soul and you may just find an enormous love so full that it overflows like a waterfall. _ #ashtangayogachallenge Day 3 is Trikonasana. This deceptively simple Standing Pose of the Ashtanga Yoga method is both healing and grounding. When practiced properly Triangle Pose sets you up for deep external hip rotation, aligns the shoulder and activates the pelvic floor.
