getting back into routines feels good, I don't find them restrictive or prohibitive but rather I like the structure they provide - albeit loose - to my days, to my life. they are not grandiose or unachievable quite the contrary really. They are simple and sustainable for me - a glass of hot water and lemon in the morning, a good breakfast(yogurt bowls or chia bowls, or a slice of whole grain sourdough toast & fruit) a walk to begin and yoga to end the day, dinner together at the table/a table, always. These routines help me to see and create moments of happiness and joy for my nourishment and to be able offer moments of happiness to others Recently I have been feeling the discomfort of the between - I'm realizing I'm still feeling not quite settled after moving back from London (even though it's been a year and a half) - and I'm slowly coming round to the fact that I have let go of many of my cherished routines, disruption is cheeky like that, including for a time a daily yoga practice. Ive had a few chats recently with friends I have been thinking how important this physicality, this type of movement is to my creative practice, and how integral a part it plays. And why I'm so excited to be offering optional classes during my Gotland retreat in August (link in profile) with @adelasterfoodtextures - It is for me an essential element to sustaining balance and presence and maintaining those rituals that help me see clearly and feel and create - it is part of the process of consistent refinement of my everyday and helps me to see that elegance in it which sustains me #eleganceintheeveryday
