It’s ok to laugh when someone tells you to eat a certain amount of fat, protein, or carbs.

That’s like telling you to drink eight glasses of liquid every day. Beer is liquid. 🤷‍♂️

Don’t worry about getting X amount of protein every day. Pay attention to getting X amount of protein that will make your body do what you want it to do. Some protein, like whey, can raise your blood sugar and insulin levels more than many carbs. Charred meat from industrial animals does an entirely different thing to your body than gently cooked grass-fed beef.

Same thing with fat. A stable saturated fat like grass-fed butter won’t oxidize in your cells, but the same amount of omega-six seed oil, also known as linoleic acid, will create an inflammatory response throughout your body when you eat very much of it. They just aren’t the same, even though they are both fats.

And then we have carbs. Corn syrup is a carb. Prebiotic fiber is a carb. They have entirely different effects on your body.

It’s your job to know what each food does to your body, regardless of whether it is a carb, protein, or fat.
