Everyone needs time to rest sometimes. If you need to take a rest because you're sick, you're busy with work or family commitments, or you want to have a holiday, I want you to know that it's perfectly FINE, but you need to make sure you are RESTING instead of quitting.⁣

When you quit, you end up in a repetitive loop. The next time you want to get back into health and fitness, you’ll be starting as a beginner again. There’s no shame in being a beginner, but if you ever want to make progress, you are going to need to learn how to REST instead of quitting so that you don’t have to keep going back to square one.⁣

So, next time you feel like you can’t keep up with your training, instead of giving up and quitting, I want you to make a conscious decision to have a rest. Acknowledge that you need some time, decide how much time you need, then BOOK IN when you are going to return to your training. You might need 1 day of rest, 1 week or 2 weeks, it doesn't matter, what matters is that you plan when you are going to return to your training.⁣

Set a time and date that you will come back to your workouts and schedule it in the planner on @SWEAT. This will keep you accountable and help you change your mindset, from a quitting mindset to a rest mindset. ⁣

It's also important to be open and honest about the reasons why you have quit before, so you can try to eliminate those reasons next time. This will help you to avoid getting to that point and quitting again. For example, if you have quit because you were burnt out from overtraining, next time try and ease yourself into your training and lower the intensity of your workouts.⁣
