Welcome back to the LEVEL UP series. The level up series focuses on exercise variations/options from beginner to advance. I share workout videos daily and I know that some exercises may not be suitable for everyone and others may want more of a challenge. Everyone’s fitness journey is different and we are all at different levels, with different experience and different goals so I wanted to provide variations for particular exercises to offer beginner, intermediate and advanced exercise options. Each week I will share a level up series focusing on different exercises to help you get started and level up! I hope you enjoy this series and find it helpful! 1️⃣ Advanced (Cardio): Split Jumps.
Split jumps are an advanced exercise for the lunging movement pattern because they require coordination, strength and stability to perform correctly. This exercise is a great addition to high intensity workouts. To begin with, perform this exercise at a slow controlled pace and progressively increase your speed as you become more comfortable with the movement.

1️⃣ Advanced (Strength): Weighted Alternating Lunges. The addition of resistance (dumbbell weights) to this alternating lunge movement makes this exercise more challenging. Keep the movement slow and controlled ensuring your form is not jeopardised whilst performing this exercise (straight back and knees in line with your feet)

2️⃣ Intermediate: Alternating Lunges: The alternating movement of this exercise places a stronger reliance on balance and coordination when compared to the stationary lunge. Keeping the movement slow and controlled with a wide stance (knees not moving past your toes) will assist in performing this exercise.

3️⃣ Beginner: Stationary Lunge. This exercise still requires balance but as there is no alternating movement it is more suitable to beginners. Keep your stance wide (knees not moving past your toes) to keep balanced and controlled.
