Youth is often full of boundless optimism and unbridled idealism. Innocence is trusting and jubilant and full of life. Experience often breaks hearts and shatters dreams, bursting bubbles of positivity with cold hard reality. Age can bring disillusionment and a feeling of learned helplessness can take over. It can feel like the machinery of existence is just too big, the forces that be just too powerful and nothing you do ever makes a substantive change. Even the things that once were joyful might now feel hollow and empty. The cards are just stacked against you.

Just read your blog Kino and I think it's a really big step that a lot of us women will be able to take in our lifetime. For the first time - perhaps in all of history - women are waking up to the idea that we have constructed visions of ourselves through the eyes of what men seek. We see each other and interpret one another through a basis that comes from a patriarchal society, and I think that we are really lucky to - even if slowly - start to wake up and break free from this. It's a bigger and much deeper rooted problem than I think a lot of us can even imagine, and I think it's so brave of you to put yourself out there and talk about it - along with everything else you're so transparent about. Your blog article, as always, is very worth the read. Thank you and keep going. So much love. 🖤

Thanks for your blog post. I have only just woken up to the patriarchy and all the rage and resentment that comes with. I am not sure but perhaps slowly I am coming through that as well. One question I have is: are there any men on the other side?? All the men I used to date were patriarchy-y. I feel empowered in my femininity and much closer to women but alienated from men. Can you elaborate on the transformation of you real-life relationships as a result of your change?

Very true! And my innocence was taken at a very early age. Somehow I've managed to keep some childhood enthousiasm. Off course there are days where I do feel overwhelmed and hopeless about the world. That's when I connect to the little miracles of everyday life. I marvel in nature. And find bliss in the power of love. I'll check out your bio. You sure seem to have found a way to connect with that childlike innocent enthousiasm. ❤️😉🙏

Does this explain why you have referred to yourself as a “girl” in the past? I always found that strange as you’re an educated person and feminist, I never understood why you referred to yourself as girl when you are clearly a woman. I noticed you didn’t use the term girl in your blog post. Would love your thoughts if you even see this comment!

WOW 😮 and thanks. Sometimes having the language clarity offers a pathway to a solution or success. Your statement, “Age can bring disillusionment and a feeling of learned helplessness can take over.” I’ve been searching for such words and now I can address it. Love your thoughts and insight. 🍷🍷🙏
