People say you should love yourself. They’re not wrong. But while self-love is a buzzword, before you are able to truly love yourself you will have to get real about all the places you hate yourself. To the degree that you’re willing to admit the violence that you commit against yourself will you be able to be free of it. To the degree that you are able to see how deeply you reject yourself will you be able to finally love yourself.

As simple as it sounds, this is hard work. But it’s so worth it. If you want to find lasting happiness the answer starts within yourself. You owe it to yourself to find the key to unlock the mystery of pure joy, pure love and let it overflow from every cell of your whole being.

I recently became aware of my inner asshole and ever since then I hear her all the time. At first I tried to cover her voice with a positive affirmation without success. Now I’m learning to hold her with love and compassion and for now that’s all that is needed. ???
