so I train or whateva??‍♀️ but i’m not as meticulously invested as I used to be. and this isn’t due to a lack of motivation, an absence of will-power, or what have you.

from one recovering perfectionist to another, it’s far easier to be black-and-white than using intuition and living in the grey area of life. in this grey space, we have less parameters to measure ourselves against, meaning we need to employ self-reliance. we need to trust ourselves. and that can be a scaryyyyy thing to do.

but I wouldn’t be writing this if I thought that this fear wasn’t worth overcoming. this isn’t an idea I just came up with. it’s my real life, right now.

because when you get to a point where the calories you consume beat the memories you make,
or when you don’t take a much needed rest day because of irrational fears (losing all the gains, inhibiting your progress, etc.)
or if despite the physical achievements you make, your body image still feels lousy,

take a step back. re-asses what health means to you. write it down. say it out loud. and ask yourself who is in control - ask yourself what balance looks like to you.

then, counteract the irrational worries that may tell you living in grey space means insurmountable sacrifice and “losing all the gains”.

because that just isn’t true.

instead,
you create space in your mind that strips a guilt-oriented way of living.
you’ll make gains, and appreciate them more.
you’ll walk towards your goals, while also stopping to smell the roses on the way.
you’ll rid yourself of guilt,
and train from a place of intent - the intent to better the quality of your life, in both the physical and mental realm???

just some thoughts to carry you through - stay strong???
