cheese platters are a long standing Friday night tradition - at once decadent and simple - indulgent, they always feel the the perfect treat after the week - they are sometimes fussy at our house but most often an excuse not the have to do dishes. Unwrapping one or two, laying them out with bits of this and that from the fridge, nuts or seeds from the cupboard - they come together quickly especially in this heat so as not to have to turn on the stove and they so easily go alfresco -
I take great pleasure in putting together our little cheeseboards- this simple action is pure delight even if it's just five minutes - they are five minutes I look forward to, as much about the action as the symbolic end to the week and the start of spending the weekend together - these are the sorts of moments that bring the greatest happiness, contentment
