a slow start to this hazy saturday morning - the rain has gently started out the window, that clear bright summer rain - welcome by all.
Though I was pottering about the garden early this morning I've since made a pot of tea and retreated with my book back to the luxury of our fresh linen clad bed - there is nothing like new bed linens and these from @pigletinbed are heavenly - already soft and supple and the perfect weight for summer nights
linen sheets are synonymous with the summer season in my mind - cool and light. I first saw them on a trip to Italy, the woman I stayed with taught me to fold back the bed sheets each morning and them them air and to shutter the windows to keep the room cool against the intense heat - smell of cypress and dry grass still linger in my memory - that simple wooden bed wrapped up in a mountain of linen sheets - even now it conjures fond memories and has shaped my understanding of elegance - simple unadorned but the luxury of clean linen sheets || sponsored
