Endless stone pillars pile on top of each other, following precise patterns and made of miraculous hexagons. These pillars were made when lava from a volcanic eruption some 1.6 million years ago froze into shape. Basalt harvested from Genbudo is used in various places throughout Toyooka, such as the dikes protecting the Otani River, running through Kinosaki Onsen, or the stone walls of old houses. ⛏ Guided tours can also spice up the scenery. ✨ It costs ¥500 for adults and ¥300 for students to enter the park.
