Incredible snow corridors in northern Japan ❄️

Japan sees some of the world's heaviest snowfalls, and the meters of snow that accumulate create some spectacular sights.

In Towada-Hachimantai National Park, which covers parts of Aomori, Iwate, and Akita prefectures, you can experience one of these winter wonders for yourself by taking a bus to the snow corridors in the mountains of northern Japan. 🚌⛄

Although the road that runs through the corridor is closed in winter, the piles of snow linger into spring. Tourists keen to see the impressive sight of walls of snow board buses in droves from mid-April when the road reopens.

Buses leave for Hachimantai from Morioka Station. Morioka Station can be reached from Tokyo in approximately two hours by Shinkansen.🚅

💁Note that the snow corridors can only be seen in April and May.
